Living a self-sufficient, thriving life…
Phil & Melissa Pinto, Owners
Our story
We’re the Pinto Family! We have a heart for learning and teaching, and we’re excited to expand our abilities as we build and develop a flower farm. Living a self-sufficient, thriving life is something that’s important to us, and it’s an important concept we’ve taught to many others over the years. We realized 3 years ago that we had a deep desire to develop a working farm to use as a platform for teaching many different skills via our ministry partner, Pilgrimage Christian Center. Our goal has been to develop a flower farm that provides the financial means to operate our ministry, but more importantly, provides many opportunities to learn a variety of life skills. We are developing an educational homestead farm that will eventually have animals and on-site classes for people of all ages.
The blueprint
Our dream is to have a thriving flower farm business – growing, harvesting, and selling flowers to consumers – that will be a “blueprint” of sorts for in-depth training for people of all ages. Pinto Family Farm has partnered with Pilgrimage to be a hands-on place to learn skills of all kinds. We want to equip people with skills to work and also skills to serve the Lord. The original vision of Pilgrimage was to be a training center for people who feel called into full-time missionary service for the Lord. We see Pinto Family Farm as the practical training ground for that. If you need to learn carpentry skills, mechanical skills, management skills, financial training, and so forth, we have the ability to teach those skills to you.
Over the next months we will be developing courses that can be taken online to aid you in your learning journey.
The people
We are blessed to be a family-owned and operated business. Our children have been an enormous help as we have built the Farm as a family. Some family we choose as well! Meet Heather! Heather helps with the marketing of the Farm. She also helps out when she can with special events and provides many great ideas for implementation at the Farm. Heather is a city girl who had no idea what she was in for when she befriended a farm girl in college! Her hobbies include traveling, spoiling her dog, and escape rooms.
